Navigating the Moment:
Speaking openly about what’s happening with immigrants in our community and at the RIC
Immigrants in Columbus are facing increasing pressure. Many of our neighbors feel less welcome and more uncertain about the future. Key concerns include narrowing paths to citizenship, slower green card processing, deportation threats for legal TPS holders (including many Haitians), and stalled asylum cases, which leave many who are pursuing lawful status in limbo.
Real families and neighbors are navigating fear, financial strain, and disrupted futures. Our work to welcome, support, and empower immigrants and refugees in Columbus depends on community backing—and timely action.
